Elevated pesticide residues in agricultural products pose significant risks to public health, degrade the environment, and lead to costly export rejections. In Asia and the Pacific, these challenges continue to undermine agricultural productivity, trade competitiveness, and progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
Across the region, innovative public–private partnerships are driving new approaches to strengthen the responsible use of pesticides, reduce residues, and improve food safety. These initiatives are helping to create more sustainable agri-food systems while facilitating safe trade and protecting the environment.
This online dialogue, jointly organized by the STDF Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Practitioner Group, CropLife International and the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI), will bring together diverse perspectives to:
- Showcase innovations and partnerships that strengthen pesticide management for safe trade facilitation across Asia and the Pacific.
- Explore how collaboration between public and private sectors can support the responsible and sustainable use of pesticides while safeguarding public health and the environment.
- Identify opportunities and lessons to scale up innovative practices and policies that contribute to safer and more sustainable agri-food trade.
More details on the speakers, registration link and programme will be shared soon.
