Through this PPG, a project proposal was developed to explore a coordinated regional approach on the management of biopesticides in the Latin American region.
The successful implementation of this PPG led to the approval of STDF/PG/753, which is ongoing.
STDF/PG/753 aims to improve compliance with Codex pesticide maximum residue limits in participating Latin American countries. This will be done through the combined use of conventional pesticides and biopesticides. The project aims to increase regional collaboration and technical capacity to generate, evaluate and take action based on pesticide residue data.
This PPG complements STDF's work on biopesticides in Africa and Asia.
