Who can apply?

The following organizations are eligible to apply for STDF funding:

  1. Public sector entities (including regional or international bodies) with responsibility for SPS measures or policy either in their own right or in co-operation with the private sector.

  2. Private sector entities and/or partnerships.

    Eligible private sector entities are:

    • Legally registered farmers' and/or professional service provider organizations;

    • Legally registered trade and industry associations.

    Eligible partnerships are:

    • One or more farmers' and/or professional service provider organizations with one or more private enterprises and/or trade and industry organizations and/or one or more public sector entities and/or one or more non-profit non-governmental organizations;

    • One or more trade and industry associations with public sector entities and/or non-profit non-governmental organizations.

  3. STDF partners (FAO, OIE, the World Bank, WHO and WTO).

  4. Non-profit non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with expertise in the SPS area operating in developing countries with an eligible organization in the relevant developing country or countries.

Eligible organizations must show, to the satisfaction of the Facility, that they are capable of implementing the requested project. For this purpose, a record of achievements and a record of financial probity will be requested. In all cases, an STDF partner or third party will supervise project implementation.
