Donors

The STDF is funded through voluntary contributions to the Trust Fund established under the financial regulations and rules of WTO.

Since adoption of the Business Plan in September 2004, contributions complementing the original seed funding from the World Bank and WTO have been received from a total of ten donors. The table below details contributions received by June 2007.

In addition to providing funds to the STDF Trust Fund, donors:

  1. Provide input to the Policy Committee on priorities for and the overall direction of the STDF work programme;

  2. Provide information on past, present and planned activities, in particular in relation to the provision of SPS-related technical co-operation for compilation in the joint WTO/OECD Trade Capacity Building Database;

  3. Share experience in the implementation of SPS-related technical co-operation, in particular project evaluations;

  4. Review and approve applications for funding in the Working Group; and

  5. Promote the STDF in appropriate fora.
