STDF Projects and Project Preparation Grants

A total of 37 Projects and 37 Project Preparation Grants had been approved for STDF funding at the end of June 2009. At the end of November 2009, 17 projects had been completed, 16 were being implemented and 4 were awaiting contracting. Of the Project Preparation Grants, 29 had been completed and 8 were nearing completion.

 

Since its inception, 54% of STDF Projects and Project Preparation Grants has gone to Sub-Saharan Africa, 15% to Latin America and the Caribbean and 12% to Asia. In addition, 14% of them can be classified as global. Regarding the areas of intervention, 42% of STDF projects has addressed food safety issues, 20% plant health and 11% animal health issues. The last 27% has addressed SPS issues in general.
