STDF and Aid for Trade

Other STDF Aid for Trade Activities

STDF – Overview of needs and assistance in eight least developed countries:

At a global level, the STDF prepared a report on SPS needs and assistance of eight Least Developed Countries (LDCs) (G/SPS/GEN/900) for the LDC Ministerial Conference on Aid for Trade on 19-20 November 2008 in Siem Reap, Cambodia, jointly organized by WTO and UNIDO.

STDF – Aid for Trade National Activity in Peru:

At the national level, the STDF was involved in an ongoing Aid for Trade activity in Peru, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank, aiming at examining the need for and provision of SPS-related technical cooperation.

A balance sheet on outstanding SPS needs and also a list of priority needs and concrete projects on technical assistance were presented to donors and international organizations at a national Aid for Trade meeting in Lima on 3 March 2009. The meeting aimed to reach agreement on an analysis of priority SPS needs not covered by planned assistance, and an action plan to mobilize resources to address these specific needs.
