"Public-Private Partnerships in Support of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Capacity" 4-6 October 2010 Bilderberg Hotel, Scheveningen (The Hague), The Netherlands The STDF, in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) and the World Bank, will organize an international workshop on 4-6 October 2010 on the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in support of sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) capacity. The objective of the workshop is to raise awareness about the potential value and role of PPPs in enhancing SPS capacity, to analyse the policy considerations, implementation modalities and innovations involved in PPPs, and to identify requirements and good practices to facilitate and advance PPPs for SPS capacity development in the future. See the Workshop Leaflet and draft Provisional Programme for more information. The workshop will take place at the Bilderberg Hotel in Scheveningen (The Hague), The Netherlands from 4-5 October, with an excursion to the Port of Rotterdam on 6 October 2010. The visit to the Port of Rotterdam will provide an opportunity to see what happens when large shipments of food and agricultural imports arrive at Europe's largest seaport and principal centre for agri-business. Details about registration and logistical arrangements is available in the note on General Information. Click here for information on hotels. Persons interested in participating are requested to complete the Registration Form and return it by e-mail to STDFSecretariat@wto.org. Registration will be open until seating capacity has been filled. There is no registration fee. A desk study on SPS-related PPPs is being prepared for presentation at the workshop. If you have examples of relevant PPPs, please complete the attached Template. Contributions received will be acknowledged and included in the desk study as annexes.
